Marie Curie

Clinical Educator - Midlands

The closing date is 17 April 2026

Job summary

Marie Curie is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Educator at our West Midlands Hospice to inspire, support and develop our clinical workforce. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by sharing your expertise, leading learning in practice, and helping colleagues deliver the highest standard of care to people at the end of their lives. By working collaboratively across hospice services and throughout the Midlands place base, you will be instrumental in enhancing team confidence, developing capabilities, and promoting clinical excellence within our organisation.

Main duties of the job

As a Clinical Educator, you will be a senior clinical specialist working across hospice and community settings, supporting the delivery of high quality palliative care.

Using your advanced clinical expertise, you will lead the development of professional standards, education and training that enable staff to provide compassionate, safe and responsive care.

You will design and deliver a place based education programme, provide induction and mentoring to new and developing staff, and support quality improvement and clinical governance across services. This is a hands on role, with around 75% of your time spent in clinical practice, working alongside and supporting clinical teams.

You will lead by example, fostering a person centred, compassionate culture for patients, families, staff and volunteers, while working within professional, ethical and organisational frameworks.

About us

We are the UKs leading, largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement.

Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they are likely to die from.

Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

We want a different society than the one we live in now. Our mission for the next five years is to close the gap in the number of people missing out on what they need at the end-of-life.
