Job summary

We're currently recruiting a Band 2 Healthcare Assistants to join our well-established community team across Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire.

Main duties of the job

You'll contribute to care planning, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and dignified environment. This is a compassionate and hands-on role where you'll make a meaningful difference in peoples lives during their final stages, while also supporting their loved ones through grief and bereavement.

Job responsibilities

Role: Band 2 Healthcare Assistant

Hours: 22:00pm 07:00am night shift

Contract: Full-time permanent

Salary: Band 2 £24,853 per annum, in line with NHS Agenda for Change (AFC) + enhancements and Marie Curie employee benefits package

Locations:Community-based within Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and Gloucestershire

As these are community-based roles, you will be responsible for planning your own work, responding to changes in patient conditions, prioritising care needs (including hygiene, nutrition and hydration, comfort, monitoring vitals, and more) as detailed in the personalised care plan and ensuring you escalate appropriately to senior staff within the multidisciplinary team in a timely manner.

What we're looking for:

  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care OR an equivalent
  • 6 Months care delivery experience (current) in a Health or Social Care Environment.
  • Hold a current and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle which includes business insurance
  • Knowledge of palliative and end of life care.
  • Hold person centred conversations, Communicate sensitively with the person and those important to them in a nonjudgmental, empathetic, supportive, and professional manner.
  • Participate in the assessment, care planning, review and evaluation of holistic care management plans within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake risk assessments to support safe delivery of care.
