Main duties of the job

As a Hub Coordinator, you will serve as the main point of contact for Marie Curie services in Yorkshire or the North East, supporting the smooth running of the coordination hub. Working closely with Senior Coordinators, you will liaise with clinical teams, management, volunteers, referrers, CHC teams, and families. Your responsibilities include managing referrals, coordinating and scheduling care, and accurately updating operational and clinical systems such as eCommunity, EMIS, and SystemOne. The role requires strong communication, diplomacy, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.

Salary: Marie Curie Pay Scale, aligned with AFC Band 2 £24,465 per annum pro rata + enhancements

Hours/Contract: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week and Part Time 25 hours per week

Contract Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Based: Hybrid Home and either Newcastle or Bradford Hospice

Closing date: 2nd February 2026

As a Hub Coordinator, you will play a key role as part of our clinical support team as you act as a first point of contact for all Marie Curie services in either Yorkshire or the North-East of England.

Collaborating closely with Senior Coordinators, you will help maintain the efficient operation of the coordination hub by liaising with both clinical support and management staff, as well as, volunteers, referrers, local CHC teams, and patients families and carers' during and after care.

You will oversee and facilitate the referral process, coordinate and schedule care as needed, ensuring precise data entry into both operational and clinical systems. This will involve use of Robotic Process Automation systems such as e Community, EMIS and SystemOne.

This position demands a high level of diplomacy, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.

What were looking for:

  • Working knowledge of windows applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc), Emails and the Internet.
  • Experience in a customer care or mediation role, including dealing with complaints in a health setting
  • Excellent communication, inter-personal and organisational skills
  • A commitment to helping patients with complex care needs
  • Ability to solve problems and take proactive action to address issues
  • A desire to help others, work towards targets and develop their skills
