We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join our team at Newcastle Hospice In-patient Unit.

Salary:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, aligned withAFC Band 5 £29,970- £36,483 per annum + enhancements

Contract Type:Permanent - Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Based:Newcastle Hospice In-patient unit

What we are looking for:

• RGN level 1 registration
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of palliative care and the needs of patients with complex symptoms as well as at end of life.
• Forward thinking with excellent communication skills

You'll be part of a supportive team that truly cares about you and your development. Using a patient centred approach and evidenced based practice, assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and co-ordinate care from admission to discharge. You will be expected to administer medication and treatment as prescribed in accordance with the NMCs and the Charity's policies and guidelines. You will also provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and carers.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nurse on NMC register (Adult)
• Ability to demonstrate continued professional development

Desirable

• Relevant post-registration training for example: palliative and end of life care/ leadership/ quality improvement
• Clinical supervisor

Experience

Essential

• Working with minimal /without supervision
• Recent experience of working in a healthcare environment and providing care for people at the end of their lives

Desirable

• Experience of working in a specialist palliative care setting
• Experience of working Hospice / community setting
