Job Title: Specialty Doctor in Palliative Medicine

Location: Marie Curie Hospice, Bradford

Salary:NHS Specialty Doctor Pay Scale £59,175 - £95,400 per annum pro rata (dependent on experience)

Hours:Weekly hours commitment is negotiable (between 16 and 24 hours per week)

Contract: Fixed term 6 months

What we are looking for:

• Full GMC registration, a licence to practice,and at least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (2 years of which must have been in relevant acute specialities/or demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies). MB ChB or equivalent
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Communication skills that are sensitive to patients and carers
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable.

Essential

• Full GMC registration, a licence to practise and at least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training, 2 years of which must have been in relevant acute specialities (or demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies)
• Audit Skills
• Teaching Skills
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Counselling skills that are sensitive to patients and carers
• Excellent communications skills

Desirable

• Experience in Treating Primary and Secondary Malignant Disease and symptoms in non-malignant conditions
• Knowledge and experience of symptom control
• Research Interest

• Promptness in communication with other professionals outside the institute in connection with patient care
• Ability to work autonomously and use initiative while recognizing own limitations and seeking help appropriately

Qualifications

• MB ChB or equivalent

• Higher Medical Qualification e.g., MRCP, MRCGP
• Diploma in Palliative Medicine
