The complementary therapist is appointed to work with the AHP lead, Inpatient Unit, Outpatients and to assist in the development of our community service as well as supporting the volunteer complementary therapists. Therapies offered by the employee will vary depending on skill and qualification typically including Reflexology, Therapeutic Massage or Auricular Acupuncture.

- 30% x your basic salary per hour paid for Saturdays & weekday night duty (8pm to 6am)
- 60% x your basic salary per hour paid for Sundays and Public Bank Holidays
What we are looking for:
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload and caseload.
- Knowledge of specialist palliative care and the use of complementary therapies within it.
- Recognised qualification in one or more complementary therapy i.e. Reflexology, Therapeutic Massage or Auricular Acupuncture.
- Significant relevant experience post-qualification
Working as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, the complementary therapist will help identify people who could benefit from complementary therapies, help coordinate their therapy, conduct initial therapy assessments, treat as appropriate, evaluate input and make recommendations regarding further therapeutic care. They have a key role in recruiting, supporting and developing volunteer therapists and in educating other health care professionals working in the hospice regarding complementary therapies and their appropriate utilisation. Where appropriate the complementary therapist may teach and supervise their colleagues and student therapists according to their capability
