Salary:Marie Curie Pay Scale, aligned with AFC BAND 5 (£28,407- £34,581 per annum + enhancement) pro rata

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our STARS team working across Liverpool. The role of the STARS Registered Nurse involves collaborative working with District Nurses, Community Nurse Specialists and other members of the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team. This facilitates maximum support of those individuals deemed to be in the last 12 weeks of their life, whilst supporting their family/carer

- 30% x your basic salary per hour paid for Saturdays & weekday night duty (8pm to 6am)
- 60% x your basic salary per hour paid for Sundays and Public Bank Holidays
- Mileage allowance of 45p per milepaid for whole training and travelling between patients home
What we are looking for:
- Hold a licence allowing you to drive in the UK with access to a car with business insuranceis essential
- Relevant community experience
- RN Registration Level 1
- Experience in NHS or another relevant care setting in palliative care
- Ability to work in a complex and stressful environment and demonstrate appropriate coping mechanisms
- IT experience Microsoft Office, EMIS would be an advantage
- Ability to use your own initiative as well as being a team player
- Ability to work flexibly as this role will include weekends as well as weekday working (from your own home). We must emphasise that the role will involve working 1 weekend in
Please note that this role involves minimal clinical duties, the you will be an active participant in team working and peer support are paramount to this role
You will perform an initial assessment and reviews at 4 weeks and 8 weeks for each patient on their caseload. The RN will also be responsible for the DST process for any stable patients at 8 weeks. Additional reviews can take place for patients whose needs change inbetween the allocated review periods
You will have a caseload of patients and will be responsible for their care planning and review. All clinical input is undertaken by the District Nurse in the community
Other responsibilities include incident reporting, liaising with Safeguarding and attending collaborative working meetings to help optimise patient safety and comfort. Sign-posting for bereavement support is also an integral part of the role
