Working as part of our Allied Health Professionals team and based at our Newcastle hospice, you will provide care and support to patients from across the North East of England. Main duties of the job

Covering both in-patient and outpatient departments, the Therapy Assistant will help support patients with a variety of life limiting conditions and symptoms in order for them to gain as much independence as possible and / or reach achievable goals.

Following assessment by a Senior OT or Physiotherapist the emphasis is to provide on-going intervention based on the written care plan and patient-centred needs. The core function of the role will be to enable patients to maintain or improve their independence and quality of life.

Hours/Contract: Full time 37.5 hours per week

Based: Marie Curie Newcastle Hospice

  • Formal technical qualification e.g., BTEC or NVQ3 in health care related subject.
  • Previous experience of working with people in a healthcare role in a rehabilitation/ post-surgical setting.
  • A compassionate approach where the care is based on the individual needs of people and their families.
