As such, we are looking for an experienced operational manager to join our team in London. We are looking for an individual who cares about our people, is dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to our patients and enjoys a busy but rewarding role.

This is a new role for Marie Curie and is part of our overall redesign of our leadership structures to support us delivering care at a local level to those who need us the most. You will be an integral part of the leadership team in London, with direct reports including Clinical Nurse Managers, our Volunteer Services in the community and others as we develop our Community offering. You will be well supported, working alongside other managers and our Nursing, Medical and Allied Health Care professionals, all collaborating to provide outstanding care.

Naturally, youll provide a high level of operational expertise and youll be responsible for the smooth running of our services on a day to day basis. Youll also be responsible for service improvement within your portfolio and contributing to our governance and oversight systems. Your role will include ensuring our workforce is effectively and compassionately managed and that they have the right tools and training to do their roles, providing monitoring and reporting on performance, supporting contract management and finance oversight and reporting. There will be plenty of opportunity to be developed and we have dedicated leadership and management training opportunities within the charity.

What we are looking for:

  • Someone with strong knowledge and experience working with community-based healthcare related clinical and non-clinical services.
  • Strong operational and people management background.
  • Strategic and business acumen.
  • Knowledge of key healthcare related stakeholders in London and ability to navigate a changing healthcare environment.
  • Experience of workforce management including absence management, recruitment and retention and performance management.
  • An understanding of finance, budgeting and commissioning would be an advantage but not essential.
  • An ability to multitask, regularly re-prioritise and have a flexible approach to your work.
