Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse to join us our dynamic team in Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead. This is incredibly rewarding role in palliative care where you can really make a difference. You will also get a very rewarding salary package, with a one off signing-on payment equal to 10% of annual base salary recruitment premia plus a retention bonus of 10% of your basic annual salary until 31st July 2024 paid on a monthly basis after completing 8 weeks in post and induction training

Main duties of the job

As a Marie Curie Nurse, you will provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group in a palliative care setting.

You will work with the team, using a patient-centred approach and evidenced based practice, assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and co-ordinate care from admission to discharge. You will be expected to administer medication and treatment as prescribed in accordance with the NMCs and the Charitys policies and guidelines. You will also provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and carers.

We are looking for dynamic and motivated nurses to join our inpatient unit in Marie Curie Hospice, Hampstead to contribute to the delivery of person-centred care.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in NHS or other relevant care setting in palliative care
  • Ability to work in a complex and stressful environment and demonstrate appropriate coping mechanisms
  • Ability to work flexibly as this role will include weekends and nights
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To be passionate about providing high quality end of life care

You will ideally have gained experience or have an interest in palliative care nursing. At the Hospice, we offer care to patients with a life-limiting illness who have a range of specialist palliative care needs within a friendly and supportive environment. You will work as part of our dedicated multidisciplinary team.

As a Marie Curie Nurse, you will deliver expert nursing care and go beyond conventional nursing duties to provide patients and their loved ones with emotional, psychological and spiritual support.
