Contract:Part time 24 - 32 hours per week

Contract Type:Fixed Term until July 2025

Based:Marie Curie Bradford Hospice

What we are looking for:

• Strong leadership skills
• Full GMC registration, a licence to practise and at least 4 years full-time postgraduate training with 2 in relevant acute specialities (or demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies)
• Higher Medical Qualification e.g. MRCP, MRCGP
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to lead a team

REACTis an innovative service developed by Marie Curie Bradford Hospice and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The service aims to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital and reduce inequalities in access to End-of-Life services across Bradford. The team will compliment and work collaboratively with existing providers across the locality improving the experience for patients and their families.

Qualifications

Essential

• MB ChB or equivalent
• Higher Medical Qualification e.g. MRCP, MRCGP

Desirable

• Diploma in Palliative Medicine and/or Geriatric Medicine or equivalent

Experience

Essential

• Full GMC registration, a licence to practice and at least 4 years full-time postgraduate training with 2 in relevant acute specialties (or demonstration of equivalent experience and competencies)
• Experience in Treating Primary and Secondary Malignant Disease, and symptoms in non-malignant conditions
• Audit Skills
• Teaching Skills
• Counselling skills that are sensitive to patients and carers.
• Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communications skills

Desirable

• Knowledge and experience of symptom control
• Research interest
• Evidence of experience in quality improvement and service development

Personality/Aptitude/Motivation

Essential

• Good listener
• Flexible
• Able to motivate others
• Promptness in communication with other professionals outside the hospice, in connection with patient care
• Ability to work autonomously and use initiative while recognising own limitations and seeking help appropriately

Desirable

• Understanding of management process and issues
