Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking for a new challenge? We have an amazing opportunity to join our Marie Curie Days team in Mid Herefordshire.

Main duties of the job

Do you want to give excellent individualised care, to enable someone to die in their own home?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Hereford. You will deliver care and support to people with terminal illnesses whilst also offering vital emotional support for their families.

Title:Healthcare Assistant Planned Services

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale,aligned withAFC BAND 2 £22,383 pro rata per annum. PlusEnhancements:

Hours/Contract:Permanent Part Time 28 Hours per Week

Based: Mid Herefordshire

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant community experience
  • S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma is desirable
  • Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support
  • UK driving licence & access to a vehicle are essential

With experience of End of Life care, you're ready and able to make a real difference. Ours is a one-to-one approach to care, so you're sure to enjoy plenty of meaningful contact with patients and their families - usually in their own homes. Working without close supervision, you'll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient's established care plan. You'll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records and emotional support to the patient and their families.
