Job summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with the relevant skills and background who wants to work for a charity that really makes a difference to the lives of the people within their local community.

The successful candidate will work with the Head of Income Generation to devise, develop, implement and review a successful programme of fundraising from the corporate sector, meeting agreed financial income and expenditure budgets.

They will also be responsible for managing and building, but not limited to, charity of the year partnerships, corporate sponsorship, corporate fundraising and engagement, and identifying and developing new corporate partnerships.

Main duties of the job

You will work with the Head of Income Generation to prepare financial income and expenditure budgets, and plan, develop, implement, deliver and evaluate a corporate fundraising programme to meet agreed targets and objectives

You will forge long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with corporate supporters and raise funds towards the ongoing work of Mountbatten, by nurturing and maintaining existing corporate partnerships and personally building and managing new partnerships

34 hours per week to be worked flexibly in accordance with the needs of the role which may include weekends, bank holidays and evenings

Job responsibilities

Key Tasks:

Develop and maintain a balanced and sustainable portfolio of companies as part of this programme, which generate significant income in line with agreed budgets, generate positive awareness of Mountbatten and provide cost savings or value in kind

Research prospective sectors and companies to compile lists of key targets

Maximise new business opportunities through established initiatives such as events and campaigns whilst proactively developing new business

Working with the Head of Income Generation, produce and deliver high quality, creative, persuasive and accurate pitches and proposals, ensuring a tailored approach at all times. Develop and write funding proposals, corporate applications and reports

Monitor and maintain effective margins for income streams under your responsibility

Manage relationships with corporate partners before, during and after receipt of funds and maintain a high level of supporter care. Accept donations, perform thank you speeches at cheque presentations when required and send appropriately written thank you letters recorded on the database

Ensure our high-value corporate partners receive appropriate stewardship and are supported to achieve maximum potential via a range of opportunities

Raise the profile of Mountbatten by networking at appropriate events and securing new introductions as well as facilitating tours and presentations at the hospice site.

Work closely with the Community & Campaigns Fundraiser to maximise potential funding opportunities and manage corporate participation in the events programme

Work closely with the Head of Communications to maximise potential funding opportunities and manage corporate participation in the annual conference

Work collaboratively with the Corporate Engagement and Partnerships Fundraiser at Mountbatten Isle of Wight to maximise corporate opportunities across the Mountbatten Group

Work closely with the Volunteer and Facilities Teams to promote and maximise corporate volunteering opportunities

Maintain accurate database records relating to all corporate partners

Prepare regular reports as required

Effectively risk manage all aspects of fundraising activity under your control.

Ensure that all fundraising events are appropriately insured

Be fully aware of and comply with Mountbatten policies and follow the Fundraising Regulators standards through The Code of Fundraising Practice

Be fully compliant with GDPR, and ensure all marketing and communications comply with the regulations

Carry out any other additional tasks or duties from time to time, as requested

Keeping up to date with all mandatory training requirements

Providing on-job training and development for other members of the team when necessary
