Job summary
Caniad is a service user and carer involvement service for people that use mental health services, and their carers, in Cardiff and The Vale. The Caniad service is hosted by Adferiad Recovery.
The Team Leader will be responsible for offering support within mental health services across Cardiff and The Vale to lead a team to facilitate involvement and co-production opportunities to enhance services. The Team Leader will bring together a range of people from a range of backgrounds who have recent experience of mental health services, with a view to enabling true representation of the communities that we serve. The Team Leader will also support the Service Manager by ensuring all Caniad Coordinators duties are complete and accurate.
The will support the Team Leader to identify involvement opportunities, facilitate attendance at meetings, forums and events, recruit new members, support provision of relevant training and IT support.
Main duties of the job
To facilitate a range of mechanisms to share service user's views and experiences and contribute towards the planning, design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the services they, or their cared for, receive.
- Be responsible for offering support within mental health services across Cardiff and The Vale.
- To make involvement opportunities visible to people that use services and their carers. This includes people from communities that may have barriers to having their voices heard for a range of reasons.
- To develop links with all community representative groups and services and help overcome the barriers that can present.
- To develop monthly Big Chat and Caniad Forum meetings.
- To communicate the Pyramid of Involvement model to Service Users, Carers, Service Providers and Service Planners.
- To ensure that social media channels and all communication channels are closely monitored to provide swift responses.
- To ensure that all required training is completed for the staff team and that all Involvers receive the correct training required.
- To evaluate with Service Providers, Planners and Involvers to develop involvement opportunities.
- To promote within the Recovery College and ensure developmental pathways for students into Caniad involvement opportunities.
- To maintain up to date records, statistics and proforma, and to contribute to service reports as required.
- To motivate staff and support them in their daily tasks.
