The successful candidate will be required to support and enhance the nursing care of residents. To provide a specialist clinical service to individuals and their families, as well as providing senior support to the nursing team and the multi-disciplinary team, as a whole.

Main duties of the job
The Senior Nurse is responsible for the full day to day running of their designated area including directly managing the carers and other Registered Nurses. They will be assist the Nursing Team Lead and Clinical Managers for ensuring that staff levels, both in their area and in the other areas, are adequate at all times. The Senior Nurse will be responsible for promoting good clinical skills amongst the RNs and competent practice amongst the carers. They will be responsible for monitoring the work of all registered nurses and carers and will act as the most senior person on duty in the absence of the Senior Nursing Team Lead/Clinical Managers. The Senior Nurse is expected to deliver and maintain high quality, evidence based care within a multi-disciplinary framework and contribute to evidence based development of clinical practice.

As well as 24 hour nursing care, we provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech & language therapy, psychology and dietetics.

- Instilling excellent clinical practices and thereby ensuring high standards of nursing care for the residents at Castel Froma;
2. Promoting a person centred approach to care in collaboration with other members of the Multi-disciplinary team, carers, families and other relevant healthcare professionals;
3. Carrying out the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of residents care plans;
4. Act as a positive role model to others and ensure that the delivery of care is evidence based and in line with the CQCs fundamental standards;
5. Attending and presenting at CHC reviews, MDT meetings and local authority reviews to ensure effective communication with all team members and acting as the residents advocate;
6. Carrying out audits as specified by the Clinical Manager and follow up actions as required;
7. Providing clinical leadership to nurses and carers working in their allocated areas;
8. Acting as the most senior person on duty in the absence of the Clinical Manager/Nursing Team Lead;
9. Actively contributing to developing the service to enhance the care and support given to residents and their families;
10. As Castel Froma is a developing organisation, you will be required to undertake additional tasks as deemed necessary by the management; and
11. Attending mandatory training as required and be responsible for your own personal development in accordance with NMC guidance.
