Job responsibilities

1. Promoting effective and evidence based nursing care ensuring that each resident has an individualised and person centred plan which is realistic and positive and takes into account the individual personal preferences of the residents;

2. Attending to the clinical needs of all the residents, including medication, care of wounds, catheter and bowel care, nutrition and hydration, end of life care, and any other care that may be required by the residents at that time;

3. Clinical leadership to care assistants working in their allocated areas;

4. Ensuring that all care is provided in accordance with best practice as indicated by The Nursing and Midwifery Council;

5. Ensuring that all care plans are maintained and stored confidentially. These must be current, relevant and regularly reviewed;

6. Working as a member of the multidisciplinary team and ensuring that information is shared accurately and appropriately both verbally and in written form;

7. Taking a responsible attitude to personal health and safety and to that of colleagues, residents and visitors to the centre;

8. Identifying opportunities to update skills and knowledge;

9.Working with the Senior Nursing Team to implement a philosophy of care at Castel Froma Neuro Care with focuses on holistic evidence based provision of care;

10. As Castel Froma Neuro Care is a developing organisation, the Registered Nurse will be required to undertake additional tasks as deemed necessary by the management.

Person Specification

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

• Ability to provide person-centred care;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Ability to work as part of a team and establish good working relationships

Desirable

• Experience working in a neurological setting;
• Ability to be an effective role model to carers and nurses;

Qualifications

Essential

• Must be a qualified Registered Nurse with a current valid NMC PIN number.

Experience

Essential

• Experience in the areas of general nursing or learning disabilities nursing;
• Experience of working with vulnerable adults;

Desirable

• Experience working with neurological conditions;
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
