Sue Ryder has an exciting new opportunity for a Professional Education and Academy Lead within our Clinical Governance and Quality directorate. This new role has been designed to spearhead the development of the Sue Ryder Academy. This academy will serve as a hub of excellence in specialist training on Death, Dying, and Bereavement.

Main duties of the job

About the Role:

This is an exciting new post for where the Professional Education and Academy Lead will support the Head of Nursing & AHPs Workforce and Education on delivery the Strategic Professional Clinical Education Objectives.

This specifically being to develop a Sue Ryder Academy that will deliver specialist training on Death, Dying and Bereavement to the internal workforce as well as external healthcare and commercial organisations.

This amazing opportunity is a national role across all Sue Ryder Healthcare Services and will hold responsibility for the line management of the Senior Practice Educators and the Bereavement Training Lead; for Nursing, AHPs and Medics at a national level.

Job responsibilities

You will:

Work closely with the Head of Nursing & AHPs Workforce and Education to ensure that the Education Academy deliverables are aligned to the strategic vision.

Through own highly developed specialist professional knowledge acquired, underpinned by theory and experience, to ensure that high quality education is delivered via the Academy to internal and external healthcare and commercial providers that meets the organisational strategic objectives and field of expertise

Responsible and accountable for policy, service development and the deliverable outcomes of the Academy via an annual training plan which includes scheduling and monitoring targets and milestones

Provide regular briefing and produce detailed reports on the development and activity of the Academy, including the analysis of data including financial information, capturing of risks and escalating appropriately, benefits and options, presentation of relevant evidence and production of recommendations. Monitor overall education and delivery plan and progress, using your judgement to adjust project plans and take appropriate action where necessary to ensure the delivery plan is delivered to cost, quality and timescale

Manage the quality assurance of education and training programmes to ensure consistent quality via continuous monitoring of the programme, formulating plans to manage any quality issues or risks and use own judgement to escalate concerns Manage the monitoring and evaluation of all education and training programmes and the formulation of revised or new training plans based on outcomes and emerging evidence

About You:

Registered Clinical Healthcare Professional (NMC/HCPC)

Educated to degree level (level 6)

Recognised post-graduate teaching qualification e.g. post graduate certificate in Health and Social Care Education

Internal Quality Assurance Qualification (or willing to work towards)

Leadership qualification
