About us
Sue Ryder St Johns Hospice is in Moggerhanger in Bedfordshire. We provide expert palliative and end-of-life care in the hospice and the community. We are here to help you and your loved ones, with everything from pain and symptom management to emotional and practical help.
About the Role
In palliative care, no two days are the same. Our inpatient unit cares for people with a wide range of conditions and symptoms, offering a unique opportunity to develop knowledge and skills while making a meaningful difference to patients and their families.
Our nurses provide compassionate, holistic care for people with life-limiting illnesses, supporting not only physical needs but also the emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing of patients and those close to them.
This role involves working a rotational shift patternincluding early, late, long days, nights and weekendsto support our 24 7 service. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside Specialty Doctors, therapists, volunteers and other colleagues to deliver the best possible outcomes for each patient.
Main duties of the job
Our ideal candidate will share a genuine passion for palliative and end-of-life care and a desire to improve the lives of people living with life-limiting conditions. While experience in palliative care such as within a hospice, high dependency unit, or oncology service is welcomed, we also value candidates from a range of clinical backgrounds and provide training and support to help develop the specialist skills needed for this role.
