About the Role
In palliative care no day is the same. Working in our community team provides a unique opportunity because we care for patients with such a variety of conditions and symptoms. If youd like to develop your knowledge of many different conditions and the impact this has on patients and their families a role in palliative care with Sue Ryder is for you.
Our nurses play an indispensable role in providing compassionate, holistic care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. Their work extends far beyond medical tasks, encompassing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support for both patients and their families.
This is a really exciting time to be joining the Community Team at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice. It is a great opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse who wants to work in a supportive environment where care of the patients comes first. This role is based within our friendly and supportive Hospice at Home (community team) and involves visiting people in their own homes to provide support to people when they need it most.
About us
Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham is Gloucestershires only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care.
We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.
We are able to provide care on our inpatient unit, virtually and in person though our community hub and in peoples home though our Hospice at Home service.

- Skilled in accessible documentation and patient communication
- Commitment to upholding patients dignity, rights, and autonomy
- Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle
Desirable
- Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in palliative or hospice care
- Mentorship qualification or experience supporting learners
- We will provide a thorough induction with supernumerary time to settle into the role and full training/competency assessment will be provided.
- There is plenty of scope to further develop your own skills in specialist palliative care, and planned career progression through our education programme and development framework is encouraged.
