Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone.

In palliative care no day is the same. Working on our inpatient unit provides a unique opportunity because we care for patients with such a variety of conditions and symptoms. About us

Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice is in Oxenhope, near Keighley. As well as expert palliative care, we support people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We work across Airedale, Wharfedale, Craven, and north Bradford.

We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.

We are able to provide care in our inpatient unit and our CNS team are on hand to visit people and provide care for people in their own home.

Some of the duties of this role include but are not limited to:

Recruitment, induction, development, supervision, appraisals of team members

Rota management including the provision of out of hours services.

Managing and accessing risk

Auditing and monitoring quality standards

Deputising in the absence of the Head of Clinical Services/Ward Manager

  • If youre ready for a new challenge in your nursing career and have minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse and an interest in palliative care, there is an opportunity for you to take the next step and become a Team Leader at Sue Ryder. You will be based in the In-Patient Unit working as an integrated member of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a leadership role within Palliative and End of Life Care. They will be able to evidence additional, role specific qualifications and professional development and can offer support, leadership and mentorship to junior members of staff and the nursing team.
  • Minimum Essential Criteria:
  • NMC registered and experience leading clinical teams inclusively
  • Ability to manage workflows with adjustments
  • Facilitates accessible communication in the team
  • Commitment to disability confidence and equitable practice
  • Desirable Criteria:
  • Postgraduate leadership qualification
  • Experience in quality improvement or audit
  • Sue Ryder provides a thorough induction with supernumerary time to settle into the role and full training/competency assessment will be provided.
  • There is plenty of scope to further develop your own skills in specialist palliative care, and planned career progression through our education programme and development framework is encouraged.
