The hospice has undergone a period of service development and we are now looking for an Occupational Therapist to meet the needs of our community patients.

This exciting role will involve providing care to patients within their homes and also in the hospice Community Hub building.

About us

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham is Gloucestershires only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care.

We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.

We are able to provide care on our inpatient unit, virtually and in person though our community hub and in peoples home though our Hospice at Home service.

About the role

The hospice has undergone a period of service development and we are now looking for an Occupational Therapist to meet the needs of our community patients.

This exciting role will involve providing care to patients within their homes and also in the hospice Community Hub building.

Our Community Hub provides a welcoming space for patients to visit and be supported by the MDT through a range of groups and clinics.

There is scope for the successful candidate to initiate setting up and running occupationally focused groups, alongside participating in already established groups.

For our patients who need support at home, the successful candidate will be required to deliver palliative occupational therapy interventions within the home, liaising with and working alongside other community teams where appropriate.

The successful candidate will join a team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Our team is dynamic, friendly and supportive and includes established specialists in the field of palliative care.

This exciting role will suit an experienced practitioner with a broad knowledge base and experience of working in a wide variety of clinical fields, who wishes to specialise in the field of palliative medicine.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge of palliative care interventions, high levels of technical competence, strong communication and inter-personal skills and the ability to work well within a close multi-disciplinary team.
