Registered Nurse Palliative Care - Inpatient Unit.Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, Thorpe Road, Longthorpe, Peterborough, PE3 6LWFull and part time hours available, internal shift rotation.£14.22 - £16.86 per hour. £27,805 to £32,967 per annum, pro rata + (30% enhancements for nights and weekends)NHS pensions and long-term service transferrable.
Main duties of the job
We have full and part time roles available to cover rotational shifts. This includes earlies, lates, 12-hour day shifts, nights & weekends, long and short shifts to create a great work life balance. As this role is to cover a 24/7 service, we are looking for candidates who can offer some flexibility to cover working nights and weekend shifts.
About us
Thorpe Hall Hospice is the only specialist palliative care inpatient unit in Peterborough for over 18-year-olds. We provide care and support for people who are living with life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families and loved ones.We have medically light beds for patients who may chose us as their Preferred Place of Death (PPOD) and see patients who require a short stay admission for complex symptom management before returning to their Preferred Place of Care (PPOC).

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care using evidence-based guidelines. Provide medicines management, including administering regular medications and set up syringe drivers and IV medication. Maintain high standards of care delivery by working collaboratively within regulatory body standards and the Sue Ryder Quality Governance Policy. Act as an ambassador of Sue Ryder to service users and their relatives, colleagues, and members of the public. Have a good general knowledge of computer-based systems including SystmOne. Maintain all records in line with policies and procedures. Support students on placement at the hospice.We will provide a thorough induction with supernumerary time to settle into the role and full training/competency assessment will be provided.There is plenty of scope to further develop your own skills in specialist palliative care, and planned career progression through our education programme and development framework is encouraged.If you would like to arrange an informal visit to our hospice, please let us know.
