Main duties of the job

Sue Ryder offers a great opportunity for an Assistant Practitioner to join our dedicated Therapies and Nursing team within our Day Treatment Unit at Wheatfields Hospice. Your role will be to provide best possible quality care and support to service users and their carers/family.

Job responsibilities

You will support the assessment, planning, consistent implementation and evaluation of high standards of personalised nursing care or therapy for patients with specialist palliative care needs all under the direction of a registered professional.The successful candidate will be required to support patients coming into the hospice for various therapeutic sessions to help them live as well as possible with their conditions. These sessions will include coping with breathlessness, exercise, psychological support and therapeutic activities.Additional training will be provided, and it is most important to us that we find individuals with the right attributes to help patients live life to the fullest.An informal discussion with our team is highly recommended to fully understand this unique opportunity.

  • Experience of working with service users with palliative care needs
  • Experience of working within a clinical setting
