Chef (Bank/Casual/Flexible) Duchess of Kent Hospice 22 Liebenrood Road, Reading, RG30 2DX. £12 - £13 per hour plus enhancements for weekend and bank holidays (30% and 60%) Ad hoc shifts to cover absence in a 7 day per week service - 06:00-14:00 or 09:30-17:30 Are you looking for a role where your catering experience can make a real difference to our patients when it matters most? About us At the Duchess of Kent Hospice in Reading, and through our Day Services in Newbury and Wokingham, we look after people living with life- limiting conditions, and offer support for families too. Job responsibilities

About the role: As a Chef -you will be joining a small friendly kitchen team providing amazing care, via delicious meals and refreshments for our patients and their families. Not only is this your chance to improve our patients quality of life, but you will be able to develop your own catering skills as you help design new menus, and create new recipes to cater for a wide variety of diets. Responsibilities: Ensure that all food is correctly and safely prepared and stored Ensure that all catering staff follow Sue Ryder policies and procedures Provide a high quality catering service within available resources Ensure all equipment is left clean at end of shift in line with systems in place Record all information as required by Sue Ryder policies and procedures About you: A very flexible team player Able to communicate effectively verbally, and in writing Able to cook/prepare food IT literate Experienced working in a catering environment Knowledge of COSSH and Health & Safety regulations A Food Hygiene certificate, and NVQ 3/4.
