An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised individual to join our Business Development & Commissioning Team as our new Business Development Marketing Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to further build their skills, knowledge and experience in both marketing and business development, working as part of a high-performing team.

The Childrens Trust is the UKs leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Community Rehabilitation Service. We are the largest centre commissioned by NHS England for Category A neurorehabilitation.

The team plays a pivotal role in generating and overseeing referrals for our frontline services whilst managing all children and young people placement-related activity. In this role, youll work closely with our Senior Business Development Marketing Manager to drive referral generating activity through both business development and marketing activity. This may include direct mail and advertising campaigns, both on and offline, through to organising and attending events, both those hosted by other organisations and our own. Youll play an important role in supporting coordination of and delivery of this activity.

Main duties of the job

You will have the opportunity to develop and implement your expertise in an environment that is focused on the highest clinical and quality standards. You will work in a 24-acre site which is unusual in its beautiful historic nature, as it is unique in its state-of-the-art facilities including robotic technology and virtual reality.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role, youll demonstrate:

  • An understanding of business development and marketing, ideally be in a services-oriented environment but this is not essential.
  • Experience in implementing and managing multi-channel marketing campaigns both on and offline, whether to consumers (B2C), professionals (B2B), or government departments/professionals (B2G).
  • Ability to work well with others both within the BD&C team and across other departments, including the central marketing and communications team who support implementation of our plans.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple projects and tasks at one time.
  • Strong administrative, computer and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, with resilience, determination and passion.

This role is pivotal in ensuring that The Childrens Trust is considered the provider of choice, to support children with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and neurodisability across the UK and internationally.

The role supports the Senior Business Development Marketing Manager on all business development and services-marketing activity to drive and increase brand awareness, identify and develop new opportunities, and cultivate relationships and partnerships to ultimately increase referrals and achieve income budget across all services offered by The Childrens Trust.

Duties and Responsibilities

Support the Senior Business Development Marketing Manager in all marketing and business development activities related to The Childrens Trust services (current and new), to strengthen brand awareness, widen reach and increase referrals. Maintain an up-to-date database of key contacts and referrers, ensuring data is collected and managed in line with relevant data protection principles. Where required, handle any incoming enquiries (telephone, email and fax) for The Childrens Trusts services sensitively and professionally. Manage all logistical arrangements related to meetings and events, including but not limited to organising on-site events i.e. visits, showcases, tours, educational sessions and others as part of the business development plan, and externally, including but not limited to webinars, round tables, conferences, and networking events. This will include, but is not limited to sourcing and booking venues, considering travel arrangements and booking, sourcing and booking hotels, organising and arranging pack-up and delivery of items for conferences (including return of said items), and liaising with third parties as required. Where required, attend events, internally and externally, representing The Childrens Trust in a professional manner. Monitor and make recommendation for improvements to our website (services-related content and enquiry pathway), materials, and branded merchandise, keeping a stock record and facilitating review, design (through internal marketing and communications team, and externally as required), and sign off as required, under the guidance of the Senior Business Development Marketing Manager. Where relevant coordinate the production of new materials, under the guidance of the Senior Business Development Marketing Manager. Build and work closely with the central Marketing and Communications team to ensure services-related content, whether thats web-based, digital, or in printed form, is accurate, accessible and developed in line with the organisations brand guidelines. Support the monitoring of competitor activities, and summarising findings to support internal discussions and decision making. Provide administrative and project support, to the Head of Business Development and Commissioning and Senior Business Development Marketing Manager as required. Produce reports as required by the Senior Business Development Marketing Manager. Support cross-cover for the Placements Officer as required, under direction of the Referral Manager, Senior Placement Manager/s or Head of Business Development & Commissioning. Raise and receipt relevant purchase orders for services-related marketing and business development activity. Reconcile monthly transaction listings, including credit card statements, coding as appropriate to ensure the effective management of budgets, under the guidance of the Senior Business Development Marketing Manager.
