Job summary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Childrens Support Assistant to join our Clinical Services Team. This role will require the successful candidate to work in a team of registered nurses and Children Support Assistants on one of our residential houses of eight children and young people under the management of the House Manager.

You will lead shifts and will deliver care (including giving medicines dispensed by our pharmacy) to the Children and Young People allocated to them (not IV or injections). There is always a senior registered nurse on site for clinical and managerial support.

Main duties of the job

We recognise that the specialised needs of our Children and Young People mean that most people we recruit will require additional training. We will recruit people with a relevant background in health or care and offer training to meet the competencies required by us and in accordance with the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). CSAs recruited with the intention of developing into a Senior CSA role will be in a probationary period of six months to allow time for this. They can be promoted to a Senior CSA level as soon as they have achieved the competencies if this takes less time.

The competencies will cover all aspects of the day-to-day care of our Children and Young People according to their care plan - including personal care, eating and drinking, emotional care, communication, moving and handling, recreational and social activities, and giving medications. It will also include learning the requirements of managing the House for a shift. A development programme will be tailored to each person depending on their previous experience and learning needs.

Staff benefits include London weighting, shuttle bus, and more Read more below
