As a Drug Test on Arrest Outreach Recovery Worker we offer a starting salary of £23,000 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to £27,000 per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).

    As Drug Test on Arrest Outreach Recovery Worker you will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team with Doctors, Nurses, Clinical Psychologist, Support Workers and Peer Mentors working to improve the well-being of a wide range of service users.

    Main duties of the job

    • You will work closely alongside Suffolk Constabulary in the counties Police Investigation Centres (PICs) and the community to maximise the effectiveness of the Drug Test on Arrest (DTOA) initiative. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that detainees who test positive for specified class A drugs at point of arrest (opiates and/or cocaine) are given every opportunity to engage with Turning Point.
    • You will be responsible for engaging individuals who have not attended required assessments, and the submission of witness statements in instances of non-compliance.
    • To undertake comprehensive substance misuse assessments, including urine drug screens and dry blood spot testing.
    • The post holder will also be involved in the delivery of psychosocial interventions including assessment, implementation, care planning and evaluation of patient care.
    • Delivering psychosocial interventions in one to one and group settings
    • Reviewing, with clients, their care plan reviews and risk assessments
    • Ensuring appropriate entries are made on patients computerised medical records
    • Referring and signposting clients to our appropriate partner agencies (e.g., health outreach, mental health services, housing providers and department for work and pensions)
    • Working with clients to support them with residential rehabilitation applications.
    • Delivering harm reduction and needle exchange services
