Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner

Location: Inscape House School, CheadleContract: 12 Month Maternity Cover, Fixed TermHours: 37.5 hours per week, 41 weeks per yearSalary: Pro-rated starting salary £26,520.62 (FTE £29,108, with bi-annual increments)

We are looking for a committed and compassionate Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner to join our inclusive and multidisciplinary team at Inscape House School. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to school-wide Positive Behaviour Support, create meaningful behaviour interventions, and empower young people with complex needs, autism, learning disabilities, and behaviours that may challenge.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of the PBS Team Lead to deliver high-quality, values-driven PBS support across the school.
  • Carry out functional behavioural assessments to understand individual needs and strengths.
  • Develop behaviour support plans informed by assessment and updated as new information emerges.
  • Provide practice leadership and support to staff teams to implement evidence-based interventions.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, data analysis, and evaluation of PBS interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and external professionals to promote joined-up working.
  • Support the design and delivery of in-house training around PBS, behaviour support, and young peoples needs.

About you

  • Passionate about improving outcomes and quality of life for young people.
  • A professional qualification in PBS or a related field (psychology, autism, counselling, education, health & social care).
  • Experience working directly with children or young people with complex needs, learning disabilities, or Autism Spectrum Conditions.
  • A professional qualification in PBS or a related field (psychology, autism, counselling, education, health & social care).
  • Experience working directly with children or young people with complex needs, learning disabilities, or Autism Spectrum Conditions.
  • Understanding of Ofsted, ACEs, Trauma-Informed practice, and PACE (or willingness to learn).
