Job summary
We are excited to establish an Active Travel Hub within
the Lower Calder Valley Primary Care Network. We are evolving the traditional
voluntary-sector model of Active Travel Hubs by creating a direct link to
general practice, ensuring health services and community resources work in
tandem.
The primary purpose of the Active Travel Hub Coordinator
is to engage with the local community and partner organisations to deliver
active travel activities and disseminate active travel information and
advice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
- Establish, maintain and promote a physical and virtual Active Travel Hub designed to provide the space, information and resources necessary to encourage walking, wheeling, and cycling within Lower Calder Valley and its communities.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local workplaces, residents, individuals and community groups, creating and delivering opportunities for these groups to access activities and training to support active travel.
- Deliver and attend activities and events, encouraging and supporting people to travel actively.
- Complement practical activities by developing active travel content and resources, including maps and digital guides, as well as ensuring the Hubs digital platforms and social media are kept up to date and active.
- Record and monitor defined measures associated with the delivery of activities, support the completion of surveys and carry out other data collection.
