Job summary

Stagenhoe Neurological Care Centre is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. Our Senior Registered Nurses ensure a high quality of person centred care is delivered at all times.

Main duties of the job

Your role will be to manage a team of registered nurses and support workers ensuring the effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of high standards of holistic care for the of service users. You will contribute to the continuing development of nursing care and services offered to the service users and smooth running of the service through the acceptance of agreed additional responsibilities.

Stagenhoe is a Brainkind specialist neurological care centre based in Hertfordshire, caring for people aged 18 and over a range of neurological conditions. At Stagenhoe, we provide the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence and support their emotional and social needs. We provide specialist neurological care, rehabilitation and support tailored to the individual needs of people with a range of neurological conditions.

Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support and help improve the lives of people with a neurological condition or brain injury.

Job responsibilities

To lead the nursing team in developing the quality of nursing care, acting as a source of support and advice to colleagues and relatives

To ensure that clinical care is provided in line with multi professional, evidence based care plans, is timely and appropriate

Take responsibility for a service user group, consulting and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team, service users, carers over their care

In consultation with the Head of Clinical Services, assess potential service users in liaison with Health commissioners

Liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals in Brainkind and outside agencies in the planning and delivery of service user care, including junior doctors on placement

Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the service user in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care

Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate individualised care using evidence based guidelines

Organise the admission and discharge of service users

Monitor and give advice responding to telephone queries
