We are looking for bank staff nurses to join the team at York House our Neurorehabilitation Hospital for people with Acquired Brain Injuries and Neurological Conditions.We offer flexible contracts and working patterns.
What we do at York House York House is a specialist assessment and neurorehabilitation hospital for men and women with an acquired brain injury. They may have had a stroke, an accident or undiagnosed health condition, such as diabetes. We have accommodation for 38 people with brain injuries at any one time.Many people who stay at York House have complex needs, challenging behaviour, mental ill-health and addictions. We help them to manage these alongside their brain injuries. Some people are detained under the Mental Health Act and others may be placed under a Deprivation of Liberty order.Rehabilitation combines psychiatry and psychology to help people cope with emotional, physical and cognitive challenges. Our aim is to support everyone to live as full a life as possible. Who youll be working with Youll be working with a specialist team which includes psychiatrists, psychologists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other nurses. Youll also manage a team of rehabilitation support workers.Our nurses also work collaboratively with families of people with brain injuries, NHS commissioning teams, case managers and other health professionals.
Main duties of the job
About you:
- RMN/RNLD/RMN experience is essential but additional training in relation to the neurobehavioral model will be provided however, a flexible approach and willingness to learn are essential.
- Leadership qualities and be comfortable managing a team with the ability to empower staff, adhere to employment law legislation and delegate tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to use your own initiative and be flexible in your approach
- The ability to deal positively with problems and difficult situations
