Consultant Clinical NeuroPsychologist -Horsham £6,000 Golden Hello Bonus (Subject to T & C's)

We are looking for a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist / Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join the team in our highly regarded service at Kerwin Court. You would take a lead role in ensuring the planning and development of innovative clinical services, supporting, and advising clinicians and our interdisciplinary team. Kerwin Court is a unit in Horsham providing rehabilitation to people with acquired brain injury.

This post is required to further develop our holistic neuro-behavioural services in line with changing clinical and commissioning needs at Kerwin Court. This post holder will develop leadership and clinical skills in working with governance and operational management to support development of our clinical MDT team. Significant clinical neuroscience/neuro-rehabilitation experience and expertise is required with good team and leadership skills.

You would also join our Clinical Executive, an international team of clinicians, who are involved in research and new projects; they share their knowledge and provide support to fellow members, working together to ensure BIRT's services remain excellent and innovative.

Main duties of the job

To provide at a high level of expertise specialist neuropsychological assessment of adults with neurological injury, utilising information from a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methodologies and integrating it into a neuropsychological formulation of the service user based on a sound understanding of neuroanatomy, neuropsychology, neuropathology and brain behaviour relationships within the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust.

To formulate and implement plans for brain injury rehabilitation or management of service users brain injury problems based on a multi-factorial neuropsychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice, taking the lead in very complex cases within the Service/ Region the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust.

To undertake at a high level of expertise a range of neuropsychological therapeutic interventions, drawing on a range of psychological models and employing a range of modalities (individual, family and group) adapted and tailored to the needs of the individual and the context and the ongoing evaluation of the outcomes of the intervention within the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust.

To be responsible for providing a specialist neuropsychological perspective in the interdisciplinary assessment of service users and their families within the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust and particularly for very complex cases with ABI.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Psychology, accepted by BPS for Graduate Basis Registration (GBR) or equivalent.
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the BPS.
  • Qualification as Practitioner Full Member of the BPS on the Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
  • Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC.
  • Any other relevant advanced specialist training/ qualification in the skills relevant to the speciality area judged to meet the BPS standards for Consultant grade by National External Assessment.
  • Clinical Supervision training for Doctoral Trainees.

Desirable

  • High profile in Clinical Neuropsychology/ Brain injury rehabilitation through published papers and presentations at national and international conferences.
  • Evidence of developing a national or international reputation through publications and/ or through professional involvement.
  • Extensive experience in a Neuropsychology setting as a consultant.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body i.e. BPS or ACP
