Following our recent merger with the Armed Forces charity Care for Veterans in Worthing, Im delighted to share details of an exciting opportunity at this Home.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about our values, someone with positive energy and who wants to work as part of a fabulous team to make a real difference.

Main duties of the job

To deliver a person centred approach which enables and promotes independence and supports positive quality of life

To provide direct occupational therapy input to residents, working closely with the Physiotherapists and wider team

To provide comprehensive assessment of residents, using an individualised goal setting and holistic approach to demonstrate outcomes.

Train and empower the staff team to deliver occupational therapy interventions identified in the individualised care plan,

Enable and support residents to maximise their potential holistically through rehabilitation and enablement

Share knowledge, experience and best practice throughout the team, including raising awareness of good practice occupational therapy techniques

Oversee the management and servicing of identified therapy equipment.

To be proactive in risk assessing residents for personal hygiene needs and advising staff team accordingly

Participate in relevant audit processes, evaluation and implementing ongoing service change to order to meet residents needs

To liaise with the community team / services and hospital discharge team to support external services for our residents.

To participate in local OT forums / groups to keep up to date and share best practice.

Support regulatory compliance, in accordance with Care for Veterans policies, appropriate legislation and guidance stipulated by regulatory bodies.

For over 100 years, Care for Veterans has provided long-term nursing care and rehabilitation for disabled veterans and their families from all over the UK.

Today, our 60-bed home in Worthing offers nursing and rehabilitation care with a specialism in disability. We provide loving, compassionate care and rehabilitation to approximately 100 beneficiaries each year, often for veterans who are facing the toughest battle of their lives.

We recognise that each individual and their needs are unique and we share the Royal Star & Garter approach to delivering quality care, also providing a range of therapies designed to provide comprehensive support.

Salary of £42,000 pa

37.5 hours per week

25 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
