Occupational Therapist - Full Time / Part Time Opportunities

Job summary
This is a flexible opportunity, with the option to workfull-time (37 hours)orpart-time as part of a job share (18.5 hours each).
TheChildren and Young People Disability Service (CYPDS)in Windsor and Maidenhead. This multi-professional service supports children and young people aged 0-25 withspecial educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
The role involves working closely with families to assess occupational therapy needs in home settings. Responsibilities include:
- Hospital discharge planning
- Assessments for adaptations (e.g., Disabled Facilities Grant)
- Sourcing equipment (e.g., seating, bath aids)
- Housing-related support (e.g., risk assessments, letters for house moves)
- Safety assessments, manual handling, and EHCP reporting
The Occupational Therapist will ensure assessments prioritize the child's voice, involve the family where appropriate, and focus on maximizing independence through equipment provision and accessible home adaptations.
Please note the salary advertised is full time equivalent and will be pro rata for part time workers.
Main duties of the job
- Work in close partnership with families to undertake assessments in relation to occupational therapy needs in thehome setting.
- To provide high quality assessments within the statutory responsibilities of Children and Families Act 2014, ChildrenAct 1989 and 2004 and the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons Act 1970 and 1986.
- Have led responsibility for all aspects of Occupational Therapy (OT) provision within CYPDS which will includemanaging statutory OT assessments in the home environment.
- Manage a varied complexity caseload at differing stages of intervention.
- Triage all new referrals for OT assessment prioritising according to need and manage a caseload that covers adviceand guidance, provision of equipment or home adaptations.
- Lead on provision and purchasing of OT equipment and resources to meet assessed needs. Manage resources withina set budget allocation following funding approval with follow up reviews for use.
- Be responsible for ensuring that all processes relating to OT service provision within the service are working wellwithout unnecessary bureaucracy and delays for families. Review all such processes regularly to ensure integratedpractice.
