The Assistant Recovery Navigator role offers either a traditional or peer-based approach, where individuals with lived experience of mental health can provide powerful, hope-inspiring support as part of their role. Main duties of the job

About you You will support clients to implement and imbed wellbeing strategies created with Recovery Navigators through: Identifying opportunities to build community connections and social networks, supporting attendance by reducing barriers to access community groups Practicing self-management strategies by working alongside clients to instil motivation and confidence, promoting sustained change Supporting clients to complete tasks identified through goals that support holistic wellbeing and improve life satisfaction Maintain hope and optimism for the individual with high aspirations for recovery, advocating for them where appropriate Support the implementation of client-led safety plans jointly with the Senior Recovery Navigator Use lived experience (if appropriate) to positively support the individuals recovery.

We are recruiting an Assistant Recovery Navigator to join our Access Community Mental Health Team in Bath, to work collaboratively with the client, GP, and other health and care professionals and the wider service team to ensure people with moderate-serious mental health needs are supported to connect to their community. As part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership in Bath and Northeast Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), Second Step delivers community mental health support in collaboration with Alabar, Missing Link and Nilaari. Together, were transforming mental health services by focusing on trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally inclusive approaches. This role is specifically for people with lived experience of moderate to severe mental health challenges. This lived experience may or may not be used purposefully in the role, this is up to the individual person. Experience of mental health challenges and services at a moderate to severe level either personally or a family member/carer. Develops and maintains effective working relationships, understands and contributes to the collective responsibility for achieving results. Confidence in IT systems and record-keeping. A deep understanding of recovery and trauma-informed practice. An ability to draw from your own recovery journey in a safe and supportive way.
