Job summary

As part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW), Second Step delivers community mental health support in collaboration with Alabar, Missing Link and Nilaari. Together, were transforming mental health services by focusing on trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally inclusive approaches. The Assistant Recovery Navigator role offers either a traditional or peer-based approach, where individuals with lived experience of mental health can provide powerful, hope-inspiring support as part of their role.

Main duties of the job

As an Assistant Recovery Navigator, youll work closely with individuals with moderate to severe mental health needs, helping them achieve personal recovery goals and connect to meaningful support within their community under the guidance of Recovery Navigators. Youll collaborate with health professionals, VCSE partners, and other support networks to provide a seamless experience.

Essential

  • Experience working with vulnerable people either in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Experience of working with competing needs and priorities
  • Experience of mental health challenges and services at a moderate to severe level either personally or a family member/carer

Desirable

  • Proven experience of mental health issues and/or services, either as a user, carer or supporter.
  • Proven experience of carrying out needs and/or risk assessments and the support planning process
