Job summary

This is a unique opportunity to lead the design and implementation of psychological, adversity and trauma (PAT) informed staff support and development programmes across multiple services. Your expertise will shape a culture of learning and build resilience in staff across the NHS Mental Health, social care, and voluntary sector to enhance the quality of the service delivery model with clients.

Main duties of the job

BSW Service Development Provide a psychological perspective to support effective service development and delivery of the community mental health services as part of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership across the Bath and North-East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) footprint. Lead the implementation of our organisational Psychological, Adversity and Trauma (PAT) strategy to support these VCSE services within BSW.

Job responsibilities

Work alongside the team, service and senior operations managers to ensure effective development of the new community mental health services, including intensive outreach and crisis houses. Provide a psychological perspective representing the voluntary sector within management and multi-agency meetings. Work closely with our Head of Psychology to ensure services in BSW align with Second Steps wider PAT strategy. Provide psychological consultation/coaching to internal staff and managers to promote understanding of a PAT informed approach and to support effective change management, cultural development and team cohesion. Provide team manager coaching to promoting cultural change.

Experience

Essential

  • Considerable experience and interest in working with people with histories of trauma e.g. personality disorder traits/presentations, multiple disadvantage including a range of adult mental health presentations and/or substance misuse, forensic histories and homelessness. Ability to formulate different ways of adapting and surviving using trauma informed frameworks
  • Significant experience offering supervision.
  • Experience of developing and delivering psychological and trauma informed training to different audiences
  • Experience and interest in group facilitation and offering reflective contexts and developing and delivering training to various audiences.
  • Experience of working autonomously across services or teams offering consultation and influencing the networks of support around individuals and creating system change
  • Experience of evaluation and audit

  • Experience of working in NHS settings PCLS, primary and secondary care and/or inpatient.
  • Experience of the voluntary sector.
