Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high quality services to enable clients facing multiple disadvantage to move towards recovery. Responsible for leading our Higher Needs Floating Support Team, you will have significant knowledge of the support needs of people who have experienced multiple disadvantages, and experience of developing and leading high performing teams. Youll work in a psychologically and trauma informed way and be able to develop a culture of reflective problem solving and shared learning. Having a background in team management, you will build and develop meaningful relationships with key partners and stakeholders in line with Second Steps values.

Main duties of the job

The aim of the Team Manager is to ensure that our Higher Needs Floating Support Team runs effectively and to a high standard on a day-to-day basis, meeting targets as agreed with Local Authority Commissioners, the Service and Senior Operations Manager.

Job responsibilities

Ensure that services and projects run effectively on a day-to-day basis meeting targets as agreed with the Service Manager- Floating Support Team. Effectively manage 3 Senior Specialist Coordinators and support them to ensure that service objectives and standards are met including flexing up/down support depending on the clients' needs and that support provided is client led, Psychologically, Adversity and Trauma (PAT) informed, appropriate, empowering and innovative Offer regular effective line management supervision to your direct reports which is both operationally and reflectively tailored to the staff members needs. Ensure that personal development plans are in place for all service staff (either directly or through management of direct reports) aligned to organisational objectives and individual staff personal and professional development

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience supervising effective teams
  • Significant experience working with people with mental health needs
  • Significant experience in working in the community (e.g. supported housing service, community mental health team, day centre)
  • Significant experience of Managing a portfolio of contracts
  • Working with a range of different commissioning models e.g. block contract, spot purchase

Desirable

  • Operationalising contracts which require 24/7 rotas
  • Using a range of HR contracts e.g. annualised hours / Bank
  • Experience of delivering a Housing First Service
