Job summary

The Higher Needs Floating Support Service is a newly commissioned service working with people in temporary accommodation or at risk of homelessness across a variety of settings. The team work closely with the local authority, health, treatment and specialist support providers to improve outcomes and work towards more settled accommodation for those facing multiple disadvantage

Main duties of the job

You will; Be experienced in supporting people facing multiple disadvantage. Have some experience in improving housing outcomes for people who have been homeless. Be great at building trust with those you work with Have compassion, empathy and passion for supporting others Be IT literate and be able to record and report information Have confidence lone working in the community. Have the ability to travel across Bristol

  • Proven experience of working in service provision for people with complex and multiple needs relating to at least two of the following: mental health, drug and alcohol, homelessness, offending
  • Proven experience of outreach or floating support work, demonstrating persistence and flexibility and a range of strategies in successfully supporting clients to engage voluntarily
  • Proven experience of working with people to sustain their accommodation or move-on positively into more settled accommodation.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, and to work collaboratively and successfully in a team environment across sectors and agencies
  • Proven ability to promote and apply good practice in equality and diversity and inclusion
  • Proven ability to operate risk management and safe working practices in working with vulnerable clients
