We
are looking for a skilled and motivated psychological professional to join our
small and friendly Bridging the Gap Team.
Bridging the Gap is an Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service (IIRMS) to deliver individually tailored and psychologically informed Interventions to high risk male and female adults on probation across North Yorkshire and Humberside.

Main duties of the job
This is a unique opportunity to manage a specialist caseload, deliver and evaluate evidence-based interventions, and contribute to psychologically informed care planning in a multi-agency context.
You'll act as a clinical expert within the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) pathway, supporting colleagues through consultation, supervision, and training, while also helping to shape the service development and best practice.
The successful candidate will be required to attend CFT and DBT training and undergo training EMDR as part of our intervention offer.

Job responsibilities
1. To manage a highly specialised caseload of adult probation clients who are assessed as presenting with complex risk and needs.
2. To assess and monitor risk and develop interventions to manage risk for individual clients, and contribute to multi-disciplinary care planning around risk, in line with organisational and inter-agency policies and procedures.
3. To evaluate treatment outcomes with clients, selecting appropriately validated psychometric measures and other assessment techniques.
4. To convey highly complex and specialist information to clients and significant others/relevant workers within the Criminal Justice system and other partner organisations.
5. To act as a clinical expert in the field of psychological therapy and to provide advice and consultation on clients psychological care and risk management to BtG colleagues and stakeholders.
6. To liaise with professionals from other health and criminal justice services regarding a clients psychological care. To include building links with Probation and other services working with clients in the pathway and sharing ideas and providing support to encourage psychologically informed and consistent support.
7. To help develop complex formulations for people on probation assessed as posing a high or very high risk of serious harm based upon a range of theoretical perspectives.
8. To provide formal supervision on psychological interventions to BtG colleagues and trainee therapists as agreed with the clinical lead and as appropriate to the grade.
9. To work autonomously within professional guidelines, Bridging the Gap policies and procedures and the overall framework of the Intensive Intervention and Risk Management Service. To be accountable for own actions and decisions without direct or day to day supervision or support.
10. To contribute to and help develop robust mechanisms for audit, data collection and clinical governance.

Training should include models of psychopathology, psychological therapies, developmental psychology and an ability to assess and manage risk within a positive risk-taking framework.
