Working closely with the National Medicines Supply Service (NMSS) Manager, you will be vital to ensuring we maintain our excellent governance and assurance standards regarding medicines.
Main duties of the job
Day to day, you will work within our NMSS stores to undertake audits, oversee and accurately check relabelled and repackaged medication as well as manage the stock and record keeping of Controlled Drugs. There will be occasional travel to our hubs to provide guidance surrounding Controlled Drugs and to undertake spot checks.

You will work closely with the National Medicines Supply Service Manager, within the National Medicines
Supply Service, to ensure that the charity is maintaining their excellent governance and assurance standards
regarding medicines. Adhering to guidance from our National Medicines Supply Service Manager, you will
undertake daily duties relating to governance and management of all medicines, including Controlled Drugs
within our NMSS stores Working within the NMSS stores; with a focus on overseeing and accuracy checking of relabelled and
repackaged medication, working alongside the Logistics Operatives (Medicine Supply), under the direction
of the National Medicines Supply Service Manager.
Responsible for ensuring that store targets set by National Medicines Supply Service Manager are met,
within agreed timeframes and any problems escalated appropriately.
Day to day stock management/record keeping of the Controlled Drugs within the National Medicine
Supply Service; stock checks audits, processing orders and returns from across the charity.
Supporting our National Medicines Supply Service Manager; providing guidance surrounding Controlled
Drugs to the wider charity, during visits to our hubs and partners across the charity.
Assisting with first line audit process and reports for the National Medicines Supply Service, when
required.
Assist the National Medicines Supply Service Manager and Clinical team with audits, spot checks and visits
and working closely with other key stakeholders within the organisation.
Ensure that medicines alerts and relevant actions are completed, within appropriate timeframes.
Assist with the development of business cases, under the direction of the National Medicines Supply
Service Manager, and deputise for them or other clinicians, when appropriate, as medicines subject
matter expert.
Demonstrate ongoing CPD, relevant to your key areas of practice both within St John Ambulance and
within your area of clinical practice
Perform any other duties commensurate with these responsibilities, the band of the post and skills and
