Job summary

We are looking to recruit an innovative practitioner who has knowledge and skills in research and data analysis. This will be a new role to Bromley Y and the post holder will work closely with the Clinical Lead and our two Assistant Psychologists. They will develop strong links with the senior leadership group, CEO and Board of Trustees ensuring Bromley Y captures meaningful data.

The post holder will be responsible for the design and delivery of quantitative and qualitative research that is relevant to young peoples early intervention services. We are looking for someone who has the following:

The post holder will also work in collaboration with Bromley CAMHS in producing reports and dashboards to keep stakeholders, referrers and young people and parents/carers informed about the services we offer.

Main duties of the job

The post represents an opportunity for a qualified and experienced researcher, with an interest and skills in research, data analysis and development to further their career in an emotional wellbeing service. The post holder will be responsible for the design and delivery of quantitative and qualitative research that is relevant to our early intervention service. They will be responsible for the annual performance reporting plan and report to leadership on performance using Rio, Pod and Data from research. The post-holder will ensure the provision of appropriate training for staff provided by Bromley Y and for training in support of CPD in partnership with Team Leaders and Practice Leads. They will be responsible for ensuring that up to date information is available on evidence-based practice. They will work to ensure that service users views and experiences are known and heard. They will work with service user, staff and partners to widen access and address meeting the needs of children and young people with diverse backgrounds. They should be committed to diversity and ensuring access to services for all. Most of the work will be carried out digitally from home. The post holder must be prepared to be flexible in their working arrangements to ensure that all staff can access support at a time which suits their needs. In addition to overseeing the assessment and management of risk the post-holder may have supervisory and line management responsibilities.

MAIN DUTIES

Conduct research related to early intervention mental health including new research, case audit, user experience.

Survey literature, develop and conduct quantitative, qualitative and mixed-method investigations designed to inform service decision making, planning.

Formulate appropriate research questions and hypothesis / area based on performance data.

Select appropriate research designs and data analysis and ensure that EDI issues are addressed.

Agree an annual plan for Bromley Y on data collection, research and performance reporting with Leadership Group, CEO and Trustees.

Advise on appropriate methods and techniques to support psychological research.

Prepare and write reports resulting from research and data analysis.

Support the leadership group in the reporting on specified commissioned projects as agreed in the annual plan.

Share findings of research with leadership team, Youth Leadership Board, Trustees and practitioners.

To work closely with the two assistant psychologists and data assistant on data collection, analysis and report writing.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Identify training needs across the service and develop routes for CPD in co-ordination with the Practice Leads.

Attend locally and nationally organised training appropriate to the work role.

To ensure knowledge and skills are continuously developed and maintained at a high level of competence.

To identify training needs through supervision and personal development plans.

To deliver training services/workshops and to take part in their evaluation.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

To maintain awareness of up-to-date research and development pertaining to advances in child and young peoples emotional wellbeing and mental health issues.

Presenting data, analysis and reports to external parties as required under research and development.

To work with others to develop practice protocols and audit tools, to collect the relevant statistical information to underpin service evaluation and record keeping.

To implement national audit tools and review with colleagues nationally and locally.

To be key in obtaining service user views and feedback on support provided to ensure the delivery of accessible provision.

To comply with relevant professional codes of conduct.

To contribute to establishing essential networks, knowledge base of resources and maintain links with relevant community organisations.

To contributing to identifying service needs and gaps across with regard to childrens mental health and wellbeing.

Develop skills in service evaluation and audit to ensure the overall development of the service.

PEOPLE MANGEMENT AND SUPERVISION

Provide mentoring, guidance, coaching and support to applicable staff (Assistant Psychologists, Data Assistant)

Identifying gaps in knowledge and arranging training to support continued professional development/knowledge.

To carry out Line management and supervision meetings.

Involvement in recruitment and selection for new employees and support with on boarding.

Communicating business developments and objectives to team members.

Lead by example to set the standards of conduct and performance and act with the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Any other relevant duties as seemed appropriate.

GENERAL

Keep accurate and appropriate records, providing information for monitoring and evaluation as required.

Participate in, and actively contribute to, individual supervision, training and team meetings as required.
