Job summary

This is part of the London wide Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT) for CBT High Intensity Therapists.The training programme consists of three days working within an IAPT service and two days at university taught by experts in the field. Working hours when at the service are 9-5 with one shifted day from 12.00-20.00The post graduate diploma course is scheduled to start in March 2024.The training takes place at the University of Royal Holloway and prepares you to meet BABCP accreditation requirements in order to work in IAPT services.This is an excellent, but demanding course and candidates are expected to complete all its requirements within 12 months of starting the training. The post involves providing psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions for people with common mental health problems. Applicants without a core mental health profession (such as Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner or Counsellors without UKCP or BACP accreditation) must be able to meet the required Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) BABCP criteria (see the NHS IAPT workforce guidance and BABCP website for further information).Please note that we cannot accept applicants without the necessary experience of working in a mental health setting.
