Were looking for a Nurse Team Leader to support our clinical provision of Residential Service across our Passmores House Service.

Main duties of the job

As Nurse Team Leader you will provide visible, effective clinical leadership to the nursing team in the service. Supported by the Medical Lead and in collaboration with the Area Director and Service Manager you will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, evidence based and compassionate care. This will include

Providing line management and supervision of the nurses

Coordination and oversight of nursing activities

Lead on clinical governance and respond to internal and external audits and reviews.

You will:

be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team that is delivering an excellent detoxification and rehabilitation service.

provide support to a group of people who use our service and work collaboratively with colleagues and other key stakeholders.

deliver evidence based, low threshold interventions and harm reduction advice

Through a variety of interventions, you will encourage individuals to develop external interests and build on their support networks and develop recovery capital to support community reintegration.

An empathic and non-judgmental approach is imperative, as this role involves working with a wide range of challenging scenarios and behaviours. Good time management and team working are also essential skills required for this role.

Inpatient Nurse Team Leader Role Purpose Be a key part of the leadership team, driving the delivery of excellent services, ensuring compliance with service contractual obligations, key performance indicators and responding. to internal and external (e.g., CQC) audits and reviews. Lead, line manage and coordinate the inpatient nurse team. Take the lead in specific designated areas, supporting to deliver strategic and operational goals. Key duties and activities of the role Provide leadership and management for the inpatient nurses, to include regular supervision. Be responsible for the day-to-day nursing practice within the unit. Lead all aspects of clinical audit and regulatory reviews. Participate in Management Meetings, to represent the views of the nursing team. Develop and deliver new ways of working in order to respond to the needs of our services users and the business. Ensure the delivery of high standards of nursing care and support to service users, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide effective new services. Oversee nursing practice within the unit, contributing to multi-disciplinary assessment, formulation and care planning, interventions and evaluations for clients. Oversee the formulation of comprehensive, person-centred assessments, risk assessments and treatment plans. Be a positive role model in providing an essential nurturing, warm, containing and stabilising human presence alongside the other clinical MDT members. Oversee the safe administration of medicine within relevant organisational and legislative guidance e.g. NMC Standards for Medicines Management 2010 and the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. Oversee the ordering, storage, administration and disposal of medication in line with relevant trust and legislative guidance e.g., NMC Standards for Medicines Management 2010, Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and MHA (1983). Ensure that the storage and management of medication safety include weekly / monthly audits are undertaken in line with the Via audit programme. Have delegated responsibility and ensure a safe working environment, reporting all incidents or potential hazards. Adhere to and lead all unit staff to follow the Health and Safety policy and procedures. Attend MDT and occupancy meetings and provide nursing input ensuring all required clinical information is available and considered. Work with the consultant, clinic nurses and recovery practitioners to ensure the required documentation is available to inform the MDT. Ensure all nursing staff adhere to the CQC standards and regulations at all times. Ensure that all IPC practices are fully embedded within the clinic in line with local and national policy. Ensure that all Via's Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times to ensure the highest standard of service provision to our service users. Lead and participate in untoward incident management investigations as required. Comply with legal rules, statutory regulations and professional responsibilities relating to practice as outlined in NMC's 'The Code': Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics for Nurses and Midwives. Maintain standards of record keeping and associated administration in accordance with Via policy and professional guidelines to include the upkeep of contemporaneous, chronological and accurate health records in accordance with relevant NMC Guidelines. Lead the ongoing review and update of relevant policies to include documentation audits. Person specification for the role Passion for working with substance misuse services or with other socially excluded or vulnerable groups. Registered Mental Health or General Health Nurse Post qualification experience required. Managerial experience Robust understanding of safeguarding and evidence of experience of upholding principles of safeguarding for both adults and children An understanding of drug and alcohol misuse and related issues, such as health, with experience of working with a wide-ranging client group to reduce risk taking behaviours.
