Clinical & Governance Partner - Quality Governance & Risk Directorate

Home based role with some travel to services across the UK

Working closely with theClinical Directorand senior clinical and operational colleagues, you will provide leadership and support across all areas ofquality, safety, and governance, helping us to ensure services consistently deliversafe, effective, and high-quality care.

This role offers the chance to balancestrategic oversightwithpractical operational support, with a focus on:

  • Patient safety and safeguarding

  • Infection prevention and control

  • Risk management and quality improvement

  • Compliance with regulatory standards

Duties and responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership:

Act as the Clinical Governance and Patient Safety lead for designated service areas.

Act as a senior clinician to support with complex case management within MDTs etc.

Develop and maintain risk registers and reports, identifying key risks and solutions to improve safety for staff and service users.

Main duties of the job

Provide expert advice on compliance with CQC and other statutory or national standards, e.g., NICE and APPTs.

Quality & Safety Oversight:

Lead and support investigations into incidents, complaints, and other safety-related events.

Oversee safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and clinical risk processes.

Develop and monitor outcome measures, KPIs, and audit programmes to ensure continuous improvement.

Improvement & Development:

Lead or support quality improvement and research projects across the organisation.

Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to managers and staff on safe practice, risk management, and governance processes.

  • Promote a culture of learning by sharing insights from incidents, audits, and feedback.
  • Facilitate engagement with service users and stakeholders to improve care delivery and outcomes.
  • Work closely with all operational teams to support clinical standards.

  • Adhere to information governance, data protection, and confidentiality requirements.

About you

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent clinical qualification).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.
  • Experience / Knowledge
  • Extensive post-registration clinical experience, including working with people with complex mental health needs.
