Employment Advisor - Wirral

Job summary

Fixed term until end of March 2026 with a possibility of extension.

We are looking for qualified Employment Advisors (EA) to join our team delivering our NHS Wirral Talking Therapies contract. The EA role is key and is a highly valued role across the service, offering support and advice to clients who access our service to help them gain, return to or retain employment.

Hours are worked between 9:00am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility is required to offer appointments up to 8:00pm on Mondays to Wednesdays, in line with client need.

Our Employment Advisors are integrated with our mental health clinicians so you will work closely with them, while also developing good working partnerships with a variety of stakeholders including employers, job centres, trade unions and employment agencies.

This is an opportunity to use your skills to gain in-depth knowledge of the local employment market and liaise with a range of schemes and initiatives to support clients with their employment situation. You will be joining an experienced, knowledgeable team who work collaboratively to get the best outcomes for our clients.

The role is fixed term until 31st March 2026 with possibility of extension subject to extension of DWP funding.

  • Experience of working in mental health or social care sector and providing advice, guidance and employment support to people with disabilities or other vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to collate and analyse data and present material clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative, use own judgement and make decisions.
  • Willing to develop knowledge/skills.
  • Very good interpersonal and oral communication skills. Able to express views, positively and constructively. Ability to develop good working relationships at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to promote teamwork, establish and maintain effective working

  • Good written communication and report writing skills.
