Job summary

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team, based at our head office in Gosforth, working on a hybrid basis

You will be responsible for Business Partnering, Budgeting, Forecasting and providing business modelling support and ad hoc management information.

You will also manage the Deputy Finance Business Partners and workload planning.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide business partnering with Operational and Service Leads to ensure delivery of timely information on performance, variance analysis, risks and opportunities, analysing monthly performance and short, medium and long term plans to inform future business decisions and anticipate future needs/challenges.
  • Manage the Deputy Finance Business Partners, ensuring workload management to provide an effective and supportive business partner function.
  • Provide accurate and timely monthly Management Accounts to Operational, Service and Support Leads to provide financial metrics to budget holders in line with the agreed reporting schedule.
  • Present monthly financial and non-financial performance to the executive management team (EMT) and to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), as required) in collaboration with the head of finance to provide accurate and timely financial performance metrics and sharing of key knowledge with leaders.

Main duties of the job

  • Manage the preparation of consolidated balance sheet reconciliations prepared by Deputy to resolve any issues and provide solutions in line with the Delegation of Authority for business need.
  • Develop and maintain business modelling for tenders and business change initiatives to support strategic decision making.
  • Facilitate internal financial controls to assist with adherence to policy.
  • Undertake any reasonable duties/responsibilities to meet the needs of the organisation.

About you

  • Level 6 Financial Qualification
  • Significant experience with supporting various budgeting processes and tools
  • Substantial experience in financial reconciliations
  • Substantial experience in building relationship with budget holders and managing expectation
  • Demonstrable experience of managing staff and associated HR
  • Substantial experience presenting and analysing monthly management accounts or financial accounts
  • Significant experience in presenting to Senior Leadership
  • Detailed understanding of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Detailed understanding of management accounts
  • Detailed understanding of accruals and prepayments
  • Detailed understanding of financial regulations and processes
  • Detailed understanding of customer statement reconciliation
  • Understanding of GDPR
  • Awareness of statutory requirement
