Job summary

Are you a qualified and NMC-registered Mental Health Nurse looking to develop your skills and experience further? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team within our Older Person's Services as a nursing Clinical Lead!

We know how valuable qualified nurses are, which is why we are offering a £1,000 Welcome Bonus, payable upon successful completion of 6-month probationary period, and we can also transfer your NHS Pension, just as long as you have held & paid in to it within the last 12 months!

For our services supporting those with complex mental health issues, our aim is to help them live well and independently in the community. In general, the people who use our service are aged 65 or over, but we look at each persons case individually based on need, not age, so we sometimes do take people under 65. We work with people to understand and manage their mental health condition, as well as to develop and practise the skills which are important to live independently. We focus on recovery, wellbeing as well as good physical health.

For our dementia care services, we believe passionately in providing good care to people with dementia and their families. We also believe that it is entirely possible for a person with dementia to live a good quality and meaningful life. With the right help, this is a reasonable expectation for anybody living with dementia.

Main duties of the job

Our teams are specialists and are passionate about what they do. We specifically select our staff not just for their skills, but for their personal qualities such as warmth, optimism, and a natural desire to help others. We have high levels of qualified nursing staff available 24 hours a day, who are supported by our dedicated team of support workers, to enable our residents to:

  • Keep a sense of meaning and purpose in life.
  • Protect personal relationships and social networks.
  • Nurture hope and self-esteem.
  • Maintain independence, choice and control.
  • Stay in touch with their local communities and be active citizens.
  • Have a sense of stability and consistency.

As a member of the clinical lead team, you will be required to work autonomously as well as with your colleagues, to ensure we deliver the best possible care to our service users.

Drawing on your strong leadership skills you will be responsible for assisting the Service Manager in organising and developing service provision, including staffing, budget allocation and expenditure, resources, support networks and public relations within and relating to the service.

You will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and ensure that our services continue to develop and provide high quality care, building on our excellent reputation.

This role is Monday - Friday, however additional hours may occasionally be required to meet organisational deadlines.
