Eating Disorder Support Officer (Hertfordshire)

Job summary

First Steps Ed are looking for a passionate and empathic Eating Disorder Support Officer to work in a team of Specialist Support Officers and Coordinators who provide services users support for a range of eating disorders. The Eating Disorder Support Officer will join our team in Hertfordshire which will require face2face sessions in Stevenage, Watford and across Hertfordshire, so access to a vehicle and full driving license is a must.

This role is fixed term until March 2026 that could be extended and hours are flexible between 24hrs - 37.5 hours per week.

You will have the ability to relate to and work with a range of professionals to ensure a high quality and safe services. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes clinical and non-clinical colleagues from referring organisations and colleagues from across our organisation.

Main duties of the job

• Provide peer support to service users, helping them realise their goals as agreed within their care plan.
• Work with the individuals to access our services including one-to-one peer support

What you will bring

• Passionate and able to communicate to our service users and teams
• Lived experience of Eating Disorder or proving support to service users regarding eating disorders.
• A good understanding of the pathways and service provision is an advantage
• Background in healthcare, children and young people support or Mental health care is advantageous
• This role requires a DBS check to be successfully completed prior to employment.
• Based in Hertfordshire - Stevenage, Watford, Luton, Hitchin, Bishop Stortford, St Albans
