Camden Health Partners is excited to invite applications from dedicated sessional GPs to join our multidisciplinary team across the two Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs) based at the Royal Free Hospital and Barnet Hospital. We would particularly welcome applications from GPs local to the UTCs and those who are interested in weekend shifts and holiday periods.

With significantly lower administrative demands compared to routine general practice, you can focus your efforts entirely on delivering high-quality clinical care.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will be responsible for a range of clinical activities, including:

  • A variety of GP consultations.
  • Assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients presenting with undifferentiated and complex conditions.
  • Clinically examining patients and planning holistic care from both physiological and psychological perspectives.
  • Diagnosing and managing both acute and chronic conditions.
  • Completing all necessary administrative work associated with clinical services.

Person Specification - Essential Qualifications:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Must be on the GMC General Practice Register and the NHS England GP Performers List.
  • Current UK professional registration.

  • 1.To provide the usual clinical care expected of a general practitioner engaged to provide clinical services in accordance with the particular requirements of a given Session.
  • 2.To complete all necessary administrative work in relation to the clinical services provided.
  • 3.To work effectively and constructively with employees of Camden Health Partners, other persons engaged by Camden Health Partners in the delivery of the Services, and other workers in the health and other related services working alongside Camden Health Partners in relation to the delivery of the Services.
  • 4.To participate in mandatory training relevant to the Duties at their own expense.
  • 5.To use computer technology as requested by Camden Health Partners. This will include (without limitation) correct use of Cerner, EMIS and Read coding and data collection.
  • 6.To participate in audit activities in relation to the Duties if requested.
  • 7.To participate in teaching activities for other persons working for or alongside Camden Health Partners in the relation to the Services.
  • 8.To attend any activities required to update and maintain clinical standards and to undertake periodic appraisal.
  • 9.To perform such other duties as Camden Health Partners may from time to time reasonably require.
